FIRST CALL FOR PAPERS

1.1 PLACE AND TIME

The Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that a Kirlian Conference will be held on April 19-21, 1996, at SYK (Helsingin Suomalainen Yhteiskoulu), Isonnevantie 8, Helsinki, Finland. The conference place is situated about 15 km from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (by taxi about 30-40 minutes). Registration will start in the evening of April 19, at 7.00 p.m. continuing in the morning, April 20 from 8.00 a.m. Note: We are planning the following social programme for Monday, April 22_ lunch together and sight-seeing. Kindly inform us if you are interested.

1.2 THE NAME OF THE CONFERENCE

KIRLIAN PHOTOGRAPHY - RECENT DEVELOPMENTS FOR MEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to: - Kirlian photography, - photographic technique and process, - calibration and equipment, - reading of image, - video and holographic applications, - computer connections and Interpretation, - safety aspects, - biological, biochemical and biophysical factors, - zoology and botany, - measurements and electronics, - life sciences in general, - supreme questions of vital force in connection with science and philosophy, including historical aspects, - other liable application areas.

Kirlian photography, Bioelectrography is a technique that investigates the concept of living tissues being luminous, that this luminosity is recordable, and can give insight into the functional status of the organism. The technique is inexpensive and is based on the use of high voltage electrical discharge systems.

1.3 LECTURES The evening lecture will start on Friday, April 19, at 8 p.m. after registration. The lectures will continue on Saturday at 9.15 a.m. Original papers are now requested for presentation in English, which is the conference language. Lectures in the Festival Hall will be interpreted totally or partly into Finnish. Several workshops will be held a the same time. Some workshop lectures will be interpreted partly. The suitable time for one lecture is from 20 to 40 minutes, including interpretation. Overhead projectors will be available in all lecture halls. If you need a slide projector, please let us know, when you return the enclosed registration form duly filled-in. Please write an abstract of your lecture, taking into account the instructions mentioned in items 1.4 and 1.5.

1.4 INSTRUCTION FOR SUBMISSION OF ABSTRACTS Authors are invited to submit an abstract, about 1-4 pages in size A4, with 25 mm (about 1") margins on the left and right sides, both at the top and the bottom. Use elite (12 character per inch) type or similar. For optical scanning purposes, you are asked to submit an original copy printed out using a quality printer or a modern typewriter. Please do not send color pictures, only black and white. It is better to type only on one side of the paper. You are requested cap capitalize the entire title and on The next ' ..e the author's first name and last name with normal print. After the author(s), please indicate the name and location of the institute, where the research work was done, including the country. Kindly leave a double space before starting the body of the abstract.

Separately it will cost 50 FIM. The registration fee does not include lunch, coffee or tea available in the conference building. In addition, the registration fee does not include the Abstract Booklet of the conference, which will be sold separately.

2 .3 REGISTRATION FORM CANCELLATION Cancellations should be made in writing or by fax to the Conference Coordinator. Please note that for cancellations received on or before March 1, 1996 an 80 % refund will be given. There will be no refund for later for 1 cancellations.

3.1 ACCOMMODATION We recommend reservations directly to hotels or hostels in time and at least 2 months before the conference.
